definition
Sharply localized, circumscribed plaque that recurs at the same site each time the offending drug is administered. Lesions, which are solitary at first, begin as a pruritic erythematous patch, then become oedematous, and sometimes bullous. As re-exposures occur, lesions often increase in number and size. Causative preparations include phenolphthalein, barbiturates, sulphonamides, oral contraceptives, and tetracycline.
